There are a lot of lessons for guitars online, A few really good ones a lot of alright ones, and some that are just a waste of money and time.
It is a bad enough feeling when you get the product for guitar lessons and find out it is not put together well. It probably could be used but, why go about it the hard way. Especially if there is a easier way to learn to play guitar. Every one wants to learn to play guitar fast! If you learn fast, it is probably because you are a really good student or more than likely because of the ease of learning the guitar with quality lessons as discussed at www.learnguitarlessonsfast.com
When learning the guitar especially a beginner learning the guitar there are a few things that make it easier, for most people. One thing is learning guitar video or a DVD, or being able to download guitar lessons or burn the guitar lessons on a DVD, or print them out. The good thing about a guitar lessons video is you can watch it over and over, stop, pause, fast forward, etc. Watching the videos you can see how to hold your hands, how to move your fingers, the speed of your movement for a song, and hear what it should sound like.
With the combination of video and audio along with the capability to stop, rewind, pause it makes learning to play the guitar much easier than looking at a book, even if you understand everything perfectly…The video and audio puts it in the ear. Actually seeing a song played and hearing the song played brings the learning full circle. Most people learn faster with a visual, and when it comes to music…actually hearing it played makes a world of difference. I highly recommend learning to play guitar with videos.
I am a wannabe guitar picker from way back! I have tried lots of ways to learn guitar. I created this site to allow guitar players and future guitar players a place to read and learn, and discuss guitar lessons for everyones benefit, education, and entertainment too! When learning to play guitar it helps to see what helped others and made it easier for them. Maybe things that made it harder, and things you will experience and may have never even thought about! Mutual community benefit for the betterment of all guitar pickers! Enjoy and don’t be sky, Tell US what YOU think!

]]>The biggest deterrant for anyone learning in an instrument is being uncomfortable/lack of improvement.
You can improve and stay comfortable through practice.. I also find a lot of teachers, Even the ones who come highly recommended tend to drag out the content of lessons due to them being payed by the hour. I had a teacher who took like 6 lessons to teach me hendrix style…I learned the fundamentals of hendrix style in like 4-5 youtube videos.

and playing by ear/sight from videos of live performances from my favourite artist.
Also, The book "Guitar For Dummies" is the holy grail for anyone who wants to learn without forking out for lessons.

]]>and is there a website that gives free electric guitar lessons that are for first time guitar players to advanced that is free?
or does anybody want to take their time to upload videos on youtube and send me an email and teach me until I get better?
Those guys have something very unique, which is a very good ear! Maybe you heard people saying that those guys aren’t really pros at theory. They see music on a different level. When they hear something, they are able to play them immediately, they don’t really care of which scale is in, that they’re using the 5th, 9th, 7th etc. in a lick. I don’t say they know nothing about theory, but they learn faster and play with a lot of soul.
The way that they learnt, they listened to records and tried to emulate that sound. That’s why they have a great ear! Their ears got used of listening to notes, so they can figure out where the notes are naturally!
Those ones you listed, they’re blues artists. One important thing that you have to know about blues, is that it’s a music that requires FEELING to play it. Not anybody can play the blues with feeling. Of course, everybody can learn a lick or two, but to play it properly requires a great vibrato, which is the most touching technique a guitar could ever have. It’s said many times that if you play series of thousands of notes, but with no feeling, and then you play a lick of only 5 notes, but with feeling, people will enjoy that 5 notes lick better than those pulls of thousands notes!
Now, to talk about you, if you want to learn to play the guitar, the best method is the one that works for you! Because those greats learnt that way, and you can learn another way, don’t be afraid to pursue another way of learning. If you can learn by listening to your favourite artists, and emulate the sound, that’s great! If you enjoy reading tabs or musical notation to learn better, again, great!

]]>Take a look at the link, which is are the notes for E minor pentatonic. You can see that the open notes EADGBe are repeated at the 12th fret. You just need to break down everything in between frets 0 and 12 into boxes that span 4 frets.
The website I gave is pretty useful for that purpose. If you choose the drop down box for "Fret" and choose a certain fret, it’ll highlight the notes in the box that starts at that specified fret.

]]>This site gives you a strong foundation in theory, which will later help you grasp everything else much faster. It’s really important to actually KNOW what it is you’re doing, rather than merely follow fingering signs on tablature or chord diagrams.
There are 3 basic areas of knowledge you’ll have to think about in learning any instrument:
1. Music theory concepts as they apply to your instrument
2. Technique
3. Style specifics

]]>thank you
i forgot to mention i have a borrowed guitar pick and tuner. and i am absoloutly broke. if i could afford lessons i wouldnt be on the internet asking how to get them for free.
being a very good guitar player, i have to say this, stop looking. the net will teach you things that will do nothing but make you stupid when it comes to the guitar. try taking guitar lessons from guitar teachers. i had a private guitar teacher come to my house once a week for 5 years. going online will give you a bunch of tab music. tab music is inaccurate and makes you dumb. learn how to read notation and then go to a music store and you can but a book thats FULL of songs, but they will all be notation not tab. so you may want to consider real lessons
